are you familiar with the cartoon character fad in FB?
Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until monday there should be no human faces on facebook, but an invasion of memories. This is for violence against children.
well, I’ve been in such a huge dilemma on choosing the cartoon to represent me. There are so many cartoons in my childhood life… that I decided to make a list. Let’s start with the classic…
15.)

cause I can watch it over and over again. In fact, Tom&Jerry childhood memories (in Betamax copies) are still very clear in my mind.
14.)

Cause if you didn’t cry when Mufasa died, something is wrong with you. Lion King made me fall in love with the cat family.
13.)

I vaguely remember Off-beats… but I can’t forget the song “My name is Betty Ann Bongo! I sing this little song-o!”
12.) One of the first animes I’ve loved…

So it’s in Akazukin Cha Cha where I first loved the other guy, Shiine. I still can’t believe she likes Riiya over Shiine.
11.) While we’re at the Anime sections…

Card Captor Sakura. Because I love the adventures, the characters, the idea of collecting cards, and most of all the love story between Syaoran and Sakura.
10.) okay, another Anime I loved…

my adorable Inuyashaaaa… grabe! It was around 4:30 pm ata? I was really furious with our school bus driver whenever he’s late and I couldn’t watch its episode in ABS-CBN.
9.)

Cause Chobits is one of the first shows I was willing to sacrifice my sleeping time with. It was as if every episode makes me hug my pillow so hard and say “awwww… so sweeet”.
8.)

Cause Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time. Belle is not only pretty, but she’s kind and smart as well! And because I believe that I’m a Disney princess at heart… ;)
7.) a bratty princess that is.

because some time in our childhood days, we all acted like Angelica Pickles of Rugrats.
6.) Proof?
well… let’s just say that a little girl was watching Little Lulu when a theoretical person turned the television off and the little girl theoretically threw the remote control in protest. you understand me the little girl right???
5.)

Cause I used this exact picture of Piglett from Winnie the Pooh as an avatar before. Apparently, we have more similarities than I thought - being malnourish is not one of it.
4.)
Cause somewhere deep deep down in my heart, I still wish to be a princess/duchess. haha! and songs from Anastasia are stuck in my heart. (Dancing Bears, painted wings… things I always remember.)
3.)

Because despite my uberly girly choices, I love the disgustingly funny cartoon Aah! Real Monster. I loved it so much that I’ll wake up 30 minutes earlier than I was supposed to, specially during tennis season when kuya and I fought over the TV.
2.)

Cause Lizzie McGuire is the epitome of awkward teen years. I can’t imagine how happy each episode made me. yes, I like Hilary Duff. Oh, the smile that reached my ears when she and her best friend, Gordo, finally kissed. aww, happy teen days. :]
1.) Despite its popularity and the likelihood of having a similar avatar in FB, I choose you…

Pikachu! I dunno what could’ve happened in my childhood days if Pokemon did not exist. It taught me how to save and invest: TCG (yes, I was one of those who played and traded the Pokemon cards), Pikachu back pack and stuffed toys, Gameboy (Sapphire, Emerald versions, etc.), and *drum rolls* Pokemon figures. You should see my collection. haha! Plus, I even named my crush Pikachu. I didn’t want anyone else - except for me and my best friend in grade school - to find out, so instead of doodling his name, I wrote Pikachu’s in my notebooks. Oh, I was a fan alright. The countless times I watched the series and movies. The stories I made in my imaginative mind about having real Pokemons like mew and mewtwo. oh, gullible steph. I miss those days.
hmm, the effort I put into making this blog post is amazing. I can’t believe that I actually sat here and collected every picture and memory. This proves how childish I am. Correction: how child-ish I am. Yes, I will always be a kid at heart, because I can never let go of my childhood memories. They are too important. So I am deeply grateful to whoever started this invasion of memories campaign. Please let every kid make happy childhood memories. :)
*Those who almost made it in the list: Zoids, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, Get Backers, Sailormoon, Popeye, Hey Arnold,  Land Before Time,Ragnarok (though I didn’t watch the cartoons much, I played the game alright.), Pink Panther, Aladin, etc.
